Had a look at Wanderer and it's a nice-looking open-source alternative to Komoot/Strava/etc.

Made this test trail to try it out: demo.wanderer.to/trail/view/@d

Would be nice if it had more group-related options. Not quite sure what they'd be, but it feels quite individual-focused (as do Komoot, etc.)

That might just be options for managing signups for scheduled rides/walks. Dunno.

I'm just thinking of groups like and my dad's weekly walking group.

@amcewen I really like Wanderer, I feel like it has a lot of potential (especially as it is federated!) When folk start setting up servers for it it'll explode in popularity I think

@sarahdalgulls yeah, it does look like it would just work (tm) for folk who don't really care about the federation or corporate lock-in side of things, once there's an easier way to use it than self-hosting.

I'd like (though I'd need to persuade everyone else) to move off WhatsApp, but the chat & lightweight organising (someone posts a start place/time & we use 👍 reactions as "signups") are important parts of that community. Not that Wanderer has to fix it, it's *my* use case
