Since the #lispyGopherClimate #technology #podcast's main mastodon instance continues to be inaccessible and we got relatively less listeners, here's the archive and a summary again):

For those who don’t know PeerTube, it is an open source decentralised alternative to YouTube with many of the same features. But importantly it also integrates with the Fediverse so anyone from Mastodon, Hubzilla, Friendica, etc can follow a channel ...continues

#Distributed and #decentralised #computing networks aren’t left-wing. They are right-wing technologies which aim to escape from being controlled by a central authority.

They aren’t democratic either. Democracy requires a central authorative force which can apply the collective will even to parties resisting it.

We are being sold a right-wing package wearing hippy left-wing tie-dye. That’s why it’s so conflicting.

The day has come, Mattrbld 1.0 is out. 🥳 And that means that not only has it left beta status, it’s now also fully open-source. 👀

What is Mattrbld, you ask? It’s a #decentralised headless content management system for static websites, blogs, portfolios, and much more.

Read the blog post for some more insights and check out the changelog to see what’s new in this release. 😊

@redfern

don't put all your eggs in #bluesky. it is still a developing story. recent bluesky news: #ads and #subscription service being developed and planned incorporated into the service. if you enjoy ads and paying for whatever, hey all power to you.

Not sure how mastodon block works, as I am on a friendica node, a member of the fediverse via Activitypub protocol.

Is there a block and mute/suspend function? if so, you may need to active both to be effective.

In my node, #libranet.de, I activate "block" to block all toots from Tooter, but I also activate "mute" to hide current toot in my timeline. #Friendica (a #facebook replacement) has powerful feature set over and above #mastodon (a #twitter replacement).

If you're familiar with facebook profiles, groups, #circles, #channels, friendica is the #opensource, #decentralised #fediverse version of it.
