It's a pity I didn't keep this going: I have a lightweight scraping workflow that puts much less stress on the powercheck.ie site, that allows me to track activity every 30mins. It would have been interesting to keep it running since the #StormEowyn

This is the last couple of days of activity:

Four works 'coloured' by the long total blackout in the wake of Storm Eowyn and my friend's death in her 91st year, three nights of wake surrounded by her beautiful family, friends and neighbours, and burial in the midst of all that, out here in the West of Ireland.

I'm baaaaaaack. 🙂 Five days of no electricity and heat, 7 days without internet (almost lost a badly needed job project over that), landline is still down (mobile phone cover +/-0 where I live). That was one hell of a week, mostly though because a dear friend died on Monday amidst the total blackout. My heart goes out to all those in warzones who deal with this for months or years, whilst having bombs falling on their heads. #stormeowyn

Today was the first day I’ve been out and about in Dundonald Belfast since Storm Éowyn. There are about 6 big mature trees down on the Upper Newtownards Road at Stormont. And another one down in Moat Park that has covered a lot of the Moat Park Fairy Trail. Old pic attached. #StormEowyn

Hello fans!

I flatter myself by making that plural. haha

Here we are after seven days and still no internet at home. It's challenging to say the least. #StormEowyn has a lot to answer for.

No..... Work; Pleasure; Socials; TV (as it's all streamed); Mobile phone (as we need wifi calling due to poor signal in the area); even our electric car needs the internet to charge at home.

Rural life has its difficulties. Although I am grateful we now have power, and the house is intact. Some have suffered greater losses here, and around the globe in various disasters.

This message comes to you from a hotel room, as i am away on business overnight and inhaling the internet -- if it is slow for you, I make no apology while I consume it. 🤪

Day seven of #stormeowyn
A week with no power now.
Fridge and freezer are starting to smell bad. I wonder if frozen vegetables would still be ok to cook?
Meat and dairy will be thrown away.
Lucky we have a gas hob running from a cannister.
The government want to ban gas and fossil fuels but without them in this situation we would not survive.
