Toni Westbrook<p>I think it's finally time to admit it - I'm a gridfinity printing addict (this is only a small portion of what I've done so far). I only wish I had found out about them earlier, they're so nice for organizing things. I still have a ton of enclosures to print before my work area is complete, but it's already making a huge difference! Anyone else gone all in on the gridfinity system? Any suggested enclosure types?</p><p><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/3dprinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>3dprinting</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/gridfinity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gridfinity</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/prusa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>prusa</span></a></p>

The quest continues to improve my humble (but growing) 3D printer set up! I've got all equipment on a smart plug that can be turned on/off remotely, grabbed a new raspberry pi with Octoprint upgraded and themed, got the webcam mounted and run through Octoprint, have it on my VPN to control it from anywhere without exposing it to the Internet, have a wifi ambient temperature sensor with alarm, and the new Bento box air filter is doing great! Been making gridfinity bins like a fiend!

New Core One firmware!

"Option to disable grille check warnings" -- yes, please. That warning is irrelevant to me and just makes it awkward to start prints remotely since it won't show status until it is cleared.

New chamber illumination setting sounds familiar, oh wait: github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmw (yay)

"Nozzle no longer heats unnecessarily on unload" -- another good one, since the filament retracts after a print it isn't necessary.

Brew Better with a 3D Printer: Exploring Coffee Prints

Coffee is a daily eye-opener for almost the entire planet, but for me, it walks the fine line between a hobby and obsession. I enjoy the caffeine kick too, but like a true coffee geek, I always try to extract the...

Swapped filament to something else with a plastic spool and holy crap it moves so much more smoothly.

Now I’m wondering how many of my weird problems are simply the result of cardboard spools being too light or creating too much friction. #Prusa #PrusaMk4S #3DPrinting

It will be hilarious if this was the problem, because the A1 tool heads also have a problem where the screws loosen on the mount for the nozzle and you get bad bed probing as a result.

At least Bambu acknowledges this in their wiki though. #Prusa #PrusaMk4S #3DPrinting

Internet says... tighten the screws on the back of the toolhead, even if they're already tight.

#Prusa says you can slightly loosen the fan screws because those are known to interfere with the load cell. But that requires taking the part fan off so I'll leave that as the second step.

At this point I have to unload and load filament every time or nozzle cleaning fails. This is not what I expected when I paid more than double.

Not sure if this is a PLA problem, a switching from PETG to PLA problem, or just a new problem. Printer homes fine without any filament loaded and works fine as long as it gets past the nozzle cleaning stage.

Yes the little silicone brush that many other printers have is a consumable but maybe that would have been a better idea. #Prusa #PrusaMk4S #3DPrinting
