It's hilarious to see tourist here who believe that simply because it's summer in Scotland then it will be warm. There are a bunch of people wearing shorts and t-shirts shivering with wooly hats and scarves on
This isn't Spain people; if you live in the north of Scotland then you may own a pair of shorts, these may be used once every couple of years (and that's only because we're Scottish and like to get some value for money ).
@kevie I'm in shorts about 3 months a year! Edinburgh is a bit cheating though, much less wet than west coast. And nae midges in toon!
@kevie what about keeping warm when wearing a kilt? I guess the long socks help
@arturN keeping warm isn't an issue with a kilt as the material is very heavy. I've never once felt cold wearing a kilt, but most of the time I've been far too warm. The only time most people wear them here is at weddings and most of those happen between May and September.
Sound like people visiting San Francisco any time of year.
@kevie
What's the actual temperature we're talking about?
@tpheine about 13°C. Heatwave.....what heatwave??? That's when the temp goes above 24°C
@kevie
Obviously I have to visit you, now!
@tpheine you will be most welcome mate Just make sure to dress appropriately for the climate
@kevie
I heard shorts and scarf is the new trend
@kevie Bloody tourists! Yer meant tae blend in with the locals when you go somewhere else.
