@amcewen Oh yes! I was about to write the code to do exactly this, until I stumbled across the site. Even my electronics skills got the GPIO buttons to work first time :)
@marquisdegeek yeah, I'd picked the wrong Pi GPIO labelling scheme for my first attempt to get the buttons working, but that was a fairly easy thing to troubleshoot.
Likewise saved me breaking out any coding, and it's more robust to give to a non-techie for them to use in the future
