Might be worth testing if you were there.

@Floppy 😞 hope it's short-lived and not too nasty!

@Floppy Sorry to hear that - get well soon, and thanks again for your Q&A contributions after my talk :goathacker:

@m on the mend already so that’s good! Thank you for the talk, it’s a super important topic!

@andypiper yeah. Fortunately I'm feeling *much* better today after being wiped out yesterday.

@Floppy get well soon. Hope it’s not a terrible spell.

@Floppy oh no! I hope you're not too ill :( a few reports coming through now :(

@CatherineFlick @floppy It really pissed me off that almost everyone ignored the excellent health guidelines on the EMF website. Apart from the masks that I and my partner wore at every indoor event, I only saw three other masks in the whole four days.
Suggestion for next time… massive publicity for the health guidelines? #EMFCamp

@KimSJ @CatherineFlick @Floppy FWIW, I had my CO2 meter on me, never saw it go above very low levels even in workshop tents. So while I had my FFP2 on me, I didn't wear it regularly; that's my risk profile.

@diffrentcolours @CatherineFlick @floppy Interesting… if people caught Covid despite your observed readings, does that suggest that CO2 monitoring is not a sufficient indicator of Covid risk?
Incidentally, I always use FFP3 masks nowadays, and make sure that they pull in when I inhale, indicating a reasonable seal.

@KimSJ @CatherineFlick @Floppy There is no 100% "safe" level of CO2 reading. There is no 100% safe masking policy.

The readings I took were specific to the times and places I was present in. I didn't go to some of the more crowded events (e.g. opening and closing ceremonies), I didn't spend a lot of time in the bar tent, and I didn't get crammed into Null Sector, Milliways etc. for dancing and karaoke.

The point I was trying to make is that just because you didn't see masks, doesn't mean people at #EMFCamp weren't thinking about #Covid.

@diffrentcolours @CatherineFlick @floppy Fair point, let’s find out…

If you were at #EMFCamp, what was your take on the Covid health guidelines?

@diffrentcolours @CatherineFlick @floppy People tend to forget, it seems, that wearing a mask is not just about protecting yourself, it’s also about protecting others in case you have asymptomatic Covid (which seems to be quite common).
Wearing a mask is the polite thing to do in indoor settings.
#Covid19 #masking

@KimSJ @diffrentcolours @CatherineFlick @Floppy Lower CO2 can't guarantee that you won't be infected, nor can a mask. But the two combined should provide a good level of protection, IMO. If ventilation is poor then you really need *everyone* to wear masks for source control.

The aim of the EMF policy is to minimise the number of infected people who arrive in the first place, and create an environment where you don't have to rely on everyone else masking.

@KimSJ @diffrentcolours @CatherineFlick @Floppy it remains to be seen how well this works in practice but I'm pretty sure EMF was a lot more covid-safe than the real world.

@russss @KimSJ @diffrentcolours @Floppy yeah, we avoided gatherings for a week (helped it was half term) and tested before we came. I had dreadful hayfever (couldn’t take the usual industrial strength meds due to breastfeeding) which led to a cough and runny nose but was otherwise ok.

@russss @KimSJ @diffrentcolours @Floppy I have small children who can’t be relied upon to mask and I usually get whatever they get so I didn’t bother to mask myself given I knew I was okay.

@KimSJ @CatherineFlick @floppy Agreed... mine may well have been one of them. (I was wearing a blue cagoule for most of the time, if that triggers a mental picture.) Even falsely putting COVID aside temporarily, con crud is very real.

One of _very_ few disappointments of the event.

@Floppy

Point 5 is basically my objection to social gatherings of any kind.
