OK two things about the upgrade to the Nintendo Switch App for smart phones.

1) It will be possible to make friend requests right from the app via QR codes.

2) It will be possible to open up and share saved images and videos direct from the app. No having to use QR codes and local wifi.

Ohhhhhhhh so America isn't even allowing #NintendoSwitch2 pre-orders yet, because tariffs haven't yet made them realize just how expensive it will be over there?

Having at least some manufacturing based in Vietnam (a 46% tariff) means it's looking bleak for them.

America, it looks like the Switch 2 is going to be even 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 than $449?!

I guess Liberation Day hasn't been too liberating for our #gaming friends over the in 'States so far.

Nintendo really went all in on anti-scalper measures and I applaud that. You can't even import or buy the multi-language Japanese Switch 2 edition while traveling in Japan. And at 69.980 ¥ or it wouldn't be worth it anyway.

Summary: The multilingual Nintendo Switch 2 console will be available exclusively from My Nintendo Store via lottery - if you are eligible. Only people with a Nintendo Account whose "Country/Region" is set to Japan, in addition, you must have played at least 50 hours of Nintendo Switch software (excluding trial and free software) as of Friday, February 28, 2025. Must have been a Nintendo Switch Online member for a cumulative total of at least one year at the time of entry and still be a member at the time of entry.

Been saying since the election was official. THAT I know its stupidly selfish and was kind of the least important thing to be worried about. BUT somehow I fucking knew Trump would contribute to fucking over Nintendo's launch. AND Ive been holding my breath thinking they might have squeaked by.

I had a stupid amount of emotional energy invested in "atleast this thing can bring joy" and this is going to fucking depress.
