Captured at the Great Salt Plains State in Oklahoma near Jet & Cherokee. What appears to look like a river is where the water from the lake is directed toward the spillway. Beyond that deep section of water is the frozen part of the lake covered with snow.

Actually, this is a peaceful place at the lake any time of the day. We often take chairs to this area and watch the birds and wildlife that come and go. Rarely does anyone else come by. Image taken at the Great Salt Plains State Park in northern Oklahoma.

The first sunrise of October at the state park was beautiful and golden. Soon, the birds would be flying to the lake for morning feedings.

The lake was so blue on this day. It's not always like this due to normal windy days that stir up the sediments & make it look brown...this was a real treat. The Egrets' movements made me watch in awe like they were dancing on the water's surface.

The Egrets were on the shore, then took off in a low flight over the lake finally circling back and rising upward to the treetop. I captured this image near the end of summer in an area I call the peninsula at the Great Salt Plains Lake in northern Oklahoma.
