WHY IS YOUR FUCKING MENU A PDF JESUS SHITTING CHRIST
"No of course they won't ever want to look at this on their phones"
Gonna get rich when I open a restaurant with an accessible menu. The food will be shit *but* we'll have an API
No wait hold on we can't do this, we'll open a portal into HTTPRange-14 hell
And after all that, the food was *phenomenally* mediocre. Only buy your fried breakfast from places where the menu is laminated and has pictures of the food
@pikesley If I can place an order by PR I'm in.
Honestly, it that salt bloke can open a fancy restaurant, I'm sure this is a goer.
@Floppy see there's clearly a market for this
@pikesley Dominos USA already cornered the market. https://registry.terraform.io/providers/MNThomson/dominos/latest/docs
@pikesley "Let them eat API!" ~ Marie Antoinette
@pikesley the wasteland of start ups that have tried to fix restaurant/pubs/bars/cafes/etc data sharing is depressing. No one has crack the incentives enough to get sustainable critical mass. maybe one day I'll try again
@pikesley Restaurant websites all do my head in. I need 3 things - when are you open, what's the menu, and how do I book a table. That's it.
@Floppy @pikesley reminds me of the closely related https://xkcd.com/773/
@pikesley oh yeah the restaurant that can barely bother to update a pdf render of a word doc of their menu on wordpress site is totally going to cleaning markup an xhtml version of their menu, they just needed to know which object types to use. _That_ was the problem.
