Of all the many crimes against the English language committed by people from the USA, I think the only one which I'd make a capital offence is that of refusing to pronounce the "L" in "soldering".
Oregano is another.
@mackaj I'm assuming that one is just wilful maliciousness. They have a state called Oregon FFS, how can they mess up the pronounciation of the almost-identically-spelled herb so badly.
