RSS feeds, plentiful redundant (and also occasionally available) web and feed caches and you'd probably not notice a lot of the time.
There's lots of the web that doesn't need continuously powered infrastructure.
@ldodds Nice. Kinda harks back to the days before the world wide web when you had to call a specific number to get access to a particular bulletin board (blimey, I feel old).
RSS needs to make a big comeback.
@DBailey635 @ldodds And the funkiest one-operator #BBSes were occasionally unavailable because their owner was using the phone line themselves. I know because I ran one on a #Amiga 500 with two floppy disk drives out of my bedroom.
@ldodds We have something like that on our summer house to run the lights. It does the job
