The thing about LLMs/AI that confuses me so much is how is it that these multi-trillion dollar tech companies can't come up with like a single good use case for their technologies.
If my friend came up to me and pitched me on something like Microsoft Recall, LinkedIn AI post summary, or Instagram Search Chatbot, I'd ask if they were dropped on their head as a child.
@malwaretech We need to use AI to help us cook. Tell me when the chicken is cooked and has no more raw bit. Also possibly useful. Take a picture of a plate and it estimates the calories.
@samofhearts Why use an “AI” for checking when a chicken is cooked when a thermometer is cheaper and easier and more accurate and doesn't boil the oceans? This is also not a good application for “AI”. @malwaretech

@mmalc That “neuro fuzzy logic” is a lot of bollocks, is what it is. Have you seen the tear down of one of those things? It's just a standard rice cooker with a PID temperature controller and some canny marketing. It's about as “intelligent” as a wrist watch. @samofhearts @malwaretech

Ignorant conflation of “AI" with "LLM" and flatulent wibbling about “boiling of oceans" from the pioutocracy is asinine.
