Just blocked the first sealion I’ve had on mastodon in a long time. It was like seeing a rare, ugly butterfly. Fascinating but I’m happy to leave it in its own environment.
@CatherineFlick Definitely a species best left in isolation
I am sitting here, wondering "Should I duckduckgo alternative meanings of sealion?".
I am definitely missing something.
Duckduckgoed.
"Trolling".
@Brynawel it’s a very specific type of trolling that requires the OP to do a lot of work to “prove” something to the sealion who then just moves the goalposts.
@CatherineFlick @Brynawel
"Nazis killed millions!"
"I won't believe untill you prove it with documents"
"Search the documents"
"It could be false, and what about Dresde"
...
And repeat this ad infinitum.
Sealions usually seems concerned just as a way to mantain their facade, but their only purpose is to make you doubt and waste time trying to prove well proven things.
@CatherineFlick I have so many questions...
(joke)
@CatherineFlick Yesterday I blocked a new follower who, at first glance, seemed innocuous enough. New-ish account, a few posts... But when I looked at "posts & replies" it turned out all his replies are to women (or, at least, accounts with names that appear to be women) telling them they're gorgeous.
Haven't seen one of those in a while, either.
@Karen5Lund yikes! Yeah just a bit creepy
