@johnmu Thanks for the info. Was trivial to implement the redirect for #WordPress using a Redirection plugin. As someone else mentioned in your replies, I just needed the one redirect to get it to work for my email.
This is the #WordPress redirection plugin I already had installed and works fine at intercepting the .well-known/webfinger URL: https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/
