going back in time to the original USB committee meetings. I'm gonna appear out of a portal, wearing an eyepatch and a dozen scars, and yell at them to explicitly forbid power-only USB cables before collapsing into a heap of dust on the floor

@whitequark @foone Why can't we just go back to separate power and data cables. 
I now have to sort through 4 different chargers and 6 different USB cables to work out which combination chages each phone fastest. WhyTF does the 2A charger often charge faster than the 3A charger?
The cable that lets me transfer data fastest isn't the one that lets me charge fastest. I hate it.

The internet can ship you all of
- label printer
- usb cable tester
- extra cable bins
And you can usually return them for a month, which should be enough time to find, sticker and sort your cables
