Evan Will<p>New article out on code4lib:<br>"Static Web Methodology as a Sustainable Approach to Digital Humanities Projects"</p><p>This short paper introduces static web development methodology (titled “Lib-Static”) as a provocation to rethink DH infrastructure choices, asking how our frameworks can build internal skills, collaboration, and empowerment to generate more sustainable digital projects.</p><p><a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/collectionbuilder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>collectionbuilder</span></a> <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/digitalhumanities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>digitalhumanities</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://journal.code4lib.org/articles/18372" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">journal.code4lib.org/articles/</span><span class="invisible">18372</span></a></p>
Frederik Elwert<p>Lately, I’ve been experimenting with creating a very basic system for publishing <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/CulturalHeritage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CulturalHeritage</span></a> <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Collections" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Collections</span></a> based on the <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/StaticSiteGenerator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StaticSiteGenerator</span></a> <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Pelican" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pelican</span></a>. Think <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Wax" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wax</span></a> or <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/CollectionBuilder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CollectionBuilder</span></a>, but way less polished. It’s not a product, it’s an exercise in <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/MinimalComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MinimalComputing</span></a> and a proof-of-concept. Since it now has a home on GitHub and basic documentation, I thought I could also share it for people to tinker with. <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DigitalHumanities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalHumanities</span></a> <br>GitHub: <a href="https://github.com/frederik-elwert/pelican-collection-demo" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/frederik-elwert/pel</span><span class="invisible">ican-collection-demo</span></a><br>Live demo: <a href="https://frederik-elwert.github.io/pelican-collection-demo/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">frederik-elwert.github.io/peli</span><span class="invisible">can-collection-demo/</span></a></p>
Frederik Elwert<p>Lately, I’ve been a bit obsessed with the question if it would be possible to build a <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/StaticSiteGenerator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StaticSiteGenerator</span></a> for <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/CulturalHeritage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CulturalHeritage</span></a> collections like <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Wax" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wax</span></a> or <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/CollectionBuilder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CollectionBuilder</span></a> with <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Pelican" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pelican</span></a>. I played around a bit, and I think it would be. I don’t know if it’s worth it, but I’m tempted. <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DigitalHumanities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalHumanities</span></a></p>
<a href="https://kantel.github.io/posts/2023072001_wunderkammer/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">kantel.github.io/posts/2023072</span><span class="invisible">001_wunderkammer/</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Wunderkammer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wunderkammer</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/CollectionBuilder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CollectionBuilder</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/StatischeSeiten" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StatischeSeiten</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Mito" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mito</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SammlungenOnline" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SammlungenOnline</span></a></p>
