Nate<p>I finally got around to assembling my <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/BikesAtWork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikesAtWork</span></a> trailer to help with a New Years Day <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/BikeMove" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeMove</span></a>. </p><p>It can be set up in short, long and extra-long modes. Here it is in short-mode, a perfect fit for some storage tubs I already had. In extra-long mode it is fully qualified for the <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/CarryShitOlympics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CarryShitOlympics</span></a>.</p><p>To pull it, the other day I put together this (mostly) parts bin Specialized RockCombo (iykyk).</p><p><a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/BikeTrailer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTrailer</span></a></p>
Nate<p>I’m preparing to sell my <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/HondaElement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HondaElement</span></a> (don’t really use it, don’t like cars, glad I don’t need it) which involves disassembling the <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a> micro camper build-out in the back and the solar panel roof-rack on top.</p><p>End of an era, a little sad, as it was one of my most successful projects.</p><p>But the good news: I now have a decent stock of 8020 aluminum profile and a ton of associated hardware for a bunch of other projects, and it’s the correct gauge for my <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/BikesAtWork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikesAtWork</span></a> trailer.</p><p><a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>
Obbie King<p>The yard waste drop-off site shuts down Tuesday, so today was the last day I could find time to take a load before winter. Two years worth of brush got tied into a tight bundle, then loaded onto the <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/BikesAtWork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikesAtWork</span></a> trailer for the 1-mile trip to the brush site. <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/carryShitOlympics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>carryShitOlympics</span></a></p>
Poor 'Possum<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://kolektiva.social/@sidereal" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>sidereal</span></a></span> Or if I'm really really dreaming... a good ebike with a <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/BikesAtWork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikesAtWork</span></a> cargo trailer kitted out to carry landscaping equipment and a cubic yard of mulch. But my employers take one look at all my pro-social vehicle suggestions and find them "impractical"</p>
Poor 'Possum<p>Hey <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Boston" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Boston</span></a> folks, I desperately need a job. But also I can't keep getting jobs that hurt me. My time in food service is done (my skin can't handle the constant washing and chemical exposure). But the only suggestions people "doing better" than me suggest all seem... either disconnected from "real" work at best, or straight up parasitic at worst. </p><p>I'm good with my hands, I'm smart, I'm flexible and can (and my ADHD means I need to) move from desk to field or shop work easily. I'm computer-savvy for a hands-on worker, I can research, strategize, and apply physical solutions and create detailed and accurate logs. </p><p>I'd love to keep working with bikes, but all the big companies did a capitalism and are putting the screws to small local shops, so everyone is tightening their belts now...</p><p>But I can't sell myself, or afford/build a life around a car. Most trades require you to have a car, if not a truck. Most city jobs require you to have a CDL, which... come the fuck on. </p><p>I'm tired. I'm sapped. And I'm running out of money. </p><p>I could really use a hand.</p><p><a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/antiwork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>antiwork</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/IWW" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>IWW</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/help" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>help</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/job" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>job</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/burnout" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>burnout</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/biketoot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>biketoot</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/bikesatwork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bikesatwork</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/bikeshop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bikeshop</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/bikeIndustry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bikeIndustry</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/MutualAid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MutualAid</span></a></p>
