Good dear . β˜•

I've now been on Mastodon for a week, and this is my 51st toot, compared to 251 notices on my own instance which I spun up in March 2017. A few months back, I asked how had become The when GNUsocial (and its ancestors) had been around for years... I get it now: it's about the experience and significantly lower barrier to adoption. I think I'm gonna shut down both my GNUsocial instances soon.

To close off our kid-free anniversary weekend, we're off 10-pin bowling.
@moosical

For the holidays, you could say thank you to some of the people who write free software you use, especially software that isn't hugely popular.

Those of us who write little-known software may go for months without hearing from a user, and it can be a little de-motivating.

Hearing from someone who actually uses one's software gives an energising jolt that can carry one through several weeks of darkness and cold and wet.

Try to watch as many good movies as possible. That way, when your life flashes before your eyes, you'll have some quality in-flight entertainment.

No matter how successful ApplePay and GooglePay will be in Germany, you will always need cash. 1€. For the shopping cart in the supermarket. #LifeProTip

Now in to watch Aquaman - 143 minutes! Hope I don't fall asleep...

Surprising charity shop find - a picture thingy with my favourite quote on it, from the great man himself... Β£1.

This is what a good trip to the cinema looks like. Three films (Grindelwald, Spiderverse, Aquaman) and popcorn & drinks for the first film, with nothing to pay!

(I bought the tickets in advance through my company discount scheme, should've been Β£98, only paid Β£48!)

Today is @moosical and my 17th wedding anniversary. She bought me a bottle of Mr Black Cold Brew . Utterly divine!! β˜•πŸ₯ƒ

Just watched the first Fantastic Beasts for the first time, in preparation for watching the sequel tomorrow.

Loved this episode. Gutted that Jonathan didn't hang up first though. In this episode, Jonathan helps CEO Alex Blumberg fulfil a 16 year old promise.

Wrote up some notes on how I worked around the problem of @dropbox dropping non-ext4 support on #linux .Quick and straightforward. Took a few minutes to setup.
Thanks to @Wimpress for the inspiration. popey.com/blog/posts/fixing-br

@thelovebug I would be surprised if the ERG chaps proposed the vote of no confidence having secured the 48 letters without some degree of confidence they would prevail in the resulting vote.

Oh wait hang on...

However, after the last two years, nothing would surprise me with this shower of self interested, selfish, arrogant bastards.

I'm not big on politics and honestly I can't see myself voting for any party ever again (apart from Green possibly or spoiling my ballot) .

The vote was 200 to 117 in confidence of the Prime Minister. So we carry on.

Watching with interest the special on covering the .

My own opinion on notwithstanding, this probably isn't the right time to do this. I hope this comes out with few casualties.
