Hi, I'm Phil, aka Phlash (it's a long story or a plausible abbreviation of my real name).

I've recently retired from a fairly complex career mainly in software engineering, with a bit of electronics and people engineering on the side!

I'm a Dad (6 grown children), Grandad (4 times so far..), UK resident, musician, sailor, holiday enthusiast :)

Bio (ish):

Nice to be here.

To be honest I never realised she had such an eclectic taste in music!

Personally I think the highlight would be that long-anticipated collaboration between Bonnie Langford and Napalm Death.

i read a thing recently that blew my mind a little.
went something like:

people can imagine time travel to the past and one little act making massive differences in the timeline

but in their present they think even the greatest effort they can put in will not make any difference to the future

And the Lord did speak, but His followers could not hear.

And His followers cried out to him, "Lord, Thou art on mute."

And the Lord did try to press the button to go off of mute, and did actually share his screen.

And his followers did see his open tabs, and were much dismayed.

Someone carved the alphabet into a tree and let it deform for five years and made a font out of it:

tbh if you're writing c code then you should probably start by writting a fuzzer harness instead of a test harness. find the crashes early and the actual logical bugs become easier
