I wrote up some observations about the OpenPGP Email summit in our most recent weeknotes.
Spoiler: usability is high up the agenda, Autocrypt is awesome and Delta Chat is my new favourite app: https://www.fluidkeys.com/weeknotes/
Who runs this instance mastodon.me.uk and how can I support its running?
I "chose" this instance only because I knew people here - it wasn't a real choice because I didn't understand mastodon when I made it.
I suspect it's important we feel connected to our instance for long term health of the network and keeping it decentralised.
Byee #MozFest, you were lovely!
Just missed my stop on the underground. I was subconsciously relying on Citymapper's "get off alert" , which fired just after the doors closed.
I'm becoming a worse human as machines try to automate things for me: navigating, parking, spelling, memory, arithmetic come to mind.
Should I try and reverse this or am I being a luddite?! #automation
MozFest is awesome, if overwhelming. Went to @dajbelshaw's fun (yes really!) session on decentralising, met some great people there
I'm totally delighted to announce Fluidkeys 0.2, which lets you create, import, fix and automatically rotate PGP keys.
We've worked hard to avoid asking difficult questions and to automate everything by default.
Also check out @idrysdale's awesome animation :D https://www.fluidkeys.com/blog/release-0-2/
"Facebook and Google are the only two big tech companies that are unable to diversify their profit centers. They’re addicted to their stupid business model in the same way that a petro state is addicted to oil. You know, once you’re hooked on oil as your national economy, you just kind of stay there."
Yay, the first commit I've got into Go's crypto library https://github.com/golang/crypto/commit/0259c3f76d4928383f46628f41c9613d07b64b7d
