...without a significant number of people I follow on other social media platforms adopting mastodon, I wonder if this will actually take off. I like the twitter format, but the people I would like to see engage here seem fine over at other spaces. In some cases, it's that they have the audience there to discuss things with.

Not everything that is older is better...this one is DEFINITELY better. When the first episode of Columbo premiered, 'Prescription: Murder', it broke the mold on police shows. Not before or since has a show managed to give away so much, so early, at the beginning while still holding our attention for an hour and a half. There was never a question of "whodunnit'" here. . .they showed us right up front. No the real mystery was in watching Columbo wear down a suspect until they give themselves up.
