Tired now, though, but good. Just back from an impromptu visit to Dad while he's up this end of the country which was rather lovely. Good nattering, and enthused to see him and his wife so eager to share their experiences with a friend of mine going through some excrement. The diamond in the rough and all that. Good humans, them.
My SO made a beautiful card and gifts for me from out girls today, two cats 😊😻 It was so lovely but also bittersweet as one of our beloved girls isn't with us this father's day. She will always be loved, and always be missed. We continue to love and care and be as kind as we can in her memory. #wwsd
UK Politirant, something something Boris Johnson..
Boris Johnson on course to be the next Prime Minister with zero democratic mandate.
I said this when Cameron cowardly ran away, and I say it again. If the leader of the political party that is in power steps down that should ABSOLUTELY immediately trigger a general election. It's utter lunacy that this madness is permitted to continue unabated.
Bah, rabble rabble.
I listened to a podcast episode about the environmental impact of clothes manufacturing. It's not something I'd thought about, but the impact was colossal.
So I'm making an effort now to buy more, if not all, of my stuff used now probably from charity shops and the great and bountiful land of eBay.
Need to do some work merging backups to get everything back right, but I can rest easy that they ARE there. Still love you, Sorbet. Always will. You are never, ever, far from our thoughts, little one 💚
Just got worked up because I thought that through some glitches with syncs and backups a few weeks ago that I'd lost a chunk of my diary entries. Most of my diary is fluff, but these missing entries charted the couple of weeks leading up to having to part ways with our beautiful feline girl, and as painful as it is I really wanted to have those entries.
I'm very thankful that I've found them again in a backup file.
Worked from home today. My step count only fractionally over 2500, and I've not drunk enough water. Saved petrol so that's less CO2 output though so I got that going for me which is nice 😜
(Fish and chips for dinner too.. -25 health, +15 cheer. Will attempt to address the stat imbalance next planetary rotation)
Anjunabeats 14 is a delightful slice of magnificent, uplifting, trance techno. Fantastic that this corner of dance music is still going strong 20 years after the seminal, original, Trance Nation album.
The Gear S2 is a great smartwatch, and a solid fitness tracker with a LOT of options and feature. But it's very, very bulky on my tiny wrist. I'm not convinced the battery life will hold up to extended workout session tracking either.
The Band 2 is much more comfortable, but has less flexibility of features. For the moment, on balance I think I'm going with the Band 2, but I'm definitely looking into the Gear Fit 2, and some Garmin options as well.
Trialling 2 fitness trackers now. The Huawei Band 2 and a Samsung Gear S2 (appreciate that's more a smart watch, but still).
Both did a decent job of tracking this evening's walk, but the S2 is far shinier.
I like the Band 2's in built GPS, but the S2's notification handling and range of recognised exercise is much better. S2's batter can't compete with the Band 2 though.
