@mattedgar Looked for a number of good people such as Claire Garside but sadly not on here yet.
Here's a bunch of people in tech and/or makers who, while mostly white, definitely aren't men in suits eating soup and should help diversify your timeline.
Plus, they all have significantly less than 500 followers and could probably deal with more.

I did have soup tonight.

I'm still not using this as much as I should. I think I lost a lot of my followers from birdshoite. And I don't think many of them made it over here. 
Personally, I only had a tiny percentage of followers make it over here, but eventually I managed to find a whole new set of "my people", many coming from unexpected angles or having various facets - musicians that are into making or keeping chickens, coders that are into photography or permaculture, and whatnot.
Anyway, what I really meant to say is that the curve is quite steep, and it's taken me the best part of a year, but I am much happier here now than I ever was over there!
