To mark feral cat day, Napoleon will be spending all his time with a duvet, to show how satisfied he is not to be one anymore. #cats
@garius So if I promise to stop being a feral software developer, can I spend the rest of the day in a duvet, too? Please?
@garius
Several years ago, we took in a feral cat as a short-term foster for the local humane society. More than a decade later, she was still with us, sleeping on my chest every night. Lovely little cat, but only one of many we've had share our home. (and still do).
@garius Former stray cat Letti (not mine, but I'm regularly cat sitting there) seems very content nowadays as well.
This is the feral cat I've been domesticating over the past few months. This was her yesterday being ridiculously happy after I had been standing near the bed where she leaned into me and purred and I petted her. When I stepped back, she rolled around and she was so joyful. Her name is Ginza.
@garius One of ours (front) was a stray/feral who moved in of his own accord.
I have never seen relief like a cat who spent at least a year sleeping on a pile of junk outside, finding a home, jumping on a sofa and feeling a soft sheepskin rug under his paws for the first time either in a long time or possibly ever. He's never left our house for more than about six hours since.
