My Honkai: Star Rail party of choice right now.

Sushang is an insanely big single-hitter, with speed boosts. Serval provides general AOE. Himeko does AOE AND her follow-up attacks combo with everyone else. Loucha's passive and active heals just seem ridiculously OP rn.

If I'm more interested in speed over healing then I swap in Herta for Luocha.

Adds Frost AOE, plus her passive (which grants a free Frost AOE follow-up attack whenever an enemy drops below 50% health) combos with everyone again.

With the Serval/Sushang/Himeko/Herta party, the goal is pure blitz.

You can, unless you're lieutenants or bosses, often 1 turn kill whatever you're up against before they even gets a chance to try and deal damage to you.

Or at least more than 1 or 2 attacks.

@garius I want Luocha, fingers crossed, but I E6'd Natasha while pulling for Seele so I'm pretty good on healing already. Seele's multi-turns are awesome, they just feel great to pull off. Hot tip, I put the "Dance, Dance, Dance!" light cone on Asta in the early game, it adds an immediate Advance Forward to her ultimate that really opens up her utility to more than just mono fire teams.

TBH tho, I try not to minmax Star Rail as much as possible. Looking up guides sucked most of the fun out of Genshin for me, turned it into a chore instead of an adventure. I'm trying not to do that with Star Rail, and it's working pretty good so far! It helps that I'm already invested in the preexisting Honkai lore, so it's just *fun* to see what these new versions are up to and listen to them in English.

Bonus fun fact, March 7th's name works way better in JP. The date is vocalized *sangatsu nanoka*, so everyone calls her "Nanoka", and that's just a normal Japanese name.

@xelle 100% agree with not min-maxing and reading guides. Takes the complete fun out of it.

And the thing that's keeping me hooked on it is the depth of story. That plus the proper turn-based JRPG format, which there just isn't enough of these days. Not everything has to be a twitchy 'action RPG'.

Seele is one of the few characters I don't have, annoyingly. I've been quite lucky other than that.

@xelle Luocha's strength over Natasha for me, so far, has been that his PASSIVE healing mostly carries you through. Which frees up Skill points for attacks with other characters, but you still have the direct heel option when required.

If you're up against stuff that does serious AOE though then Nat, with her Ultimate, is a lifesaver.

@xelle that and the fact that as I'm normally using Sushang, putting Nat in the party means doubling up on Physical damage rather than spreading the weakness break options around a bit.

@garius I think I need to start adjusting things up. I originally built my team like an MMORPG group...

Fire Main = Tank
Nat = Healer
Silver Wolf = Debuffer DPS
Dan Heng = Big DPS

I never die.... but I am too slow at times to pass speed tests that require winning in a certain number of rounds

@belghast Yeah, I'd maybe say that healer + debuff + tank is a bit overkill for most fights.

But then ultimately it all comes down to who you've unlocked I suppose.

@garius Oh, you’re so lucky you got Luocha! I lost the pity and got (another) Bailu.

My party of choice now is MC, Jing Yuan, Dan Heng, and whatever support seems best, either Bailu, Tingyun, or March 7th.

@stopthatgirl7 yeah. I knew nothing about Luocha, but got him on my first 10 warp of the current special. 😆

Moment I tried him I was like:

"wait, whaaaat"

auto-heal, plus direct heal, plus passive heal for other characters when they attack, after he's healed twice.

Plus his ultimate counts towards those heals while dealing damage.

March had been my automatic 4th support member until then. No longer!

@stopthatgirl7 how are you using Tingyun, if you don't mind me asking?

I've got her unlocked, but haven't levelled her up, and now I'm running around with Level 60 characters, levelling someone up from Level 1 is a bigger decision than it used to be!

@garius Basically, I’m using her to buff Jing Yuan. She increases attack and crit rate, and can make his Prana Extirpated attack hit very, very hard since the buff applies to the Thunder Lord. If I’m fighting something with a lightning weakness, I just have her buff Jing Yuan every round and he melts everything.

@stopthatgirl7 oh nice! noted, to experiment with.

@garius Just using him in the trial made him seem so awesome.

I can’t even express how let down I was to see I got a gold, and it to turned out to be Bailu.
