@garius @jeremybarraud Honest, good-faith question from someone who isn't & will never be a parent: Why do children growing up provoke such an emotional response in their parents?
I've Googled it & it seems that the primary emotion is loss but no-one discusses why that is. It seems to be one of those things that is so universally accepted that no-one feels the need to explore it deeper.
