Just played #Risk for the first time in 10 years.
It was an excellent reminder why I haven't played Risk for 10 years.
I dislike Monopoly, my kids have a few rubbish games I'll tolerate if they want to play (Mario Game of Life anyone?) ... but Risk? I fucking hate Risk. I hate it with a passion.
@bazpoint There are just so many games out there that do "Risk" better than Risk does. Small World and Nexus Ops are both high on my list.
Yup, I love Small World... I just sat there the whole time thinking that I would rather be playing that... or Kemet, or Inis, or anything from the COIN series.... or... or... anything but bloody Risk.
I'd love to introduce any of those to the owner of the Risk game we played last night, but for them Risk is like a family religion, they don't see the flaws at all, they genuinely love it, it doesn't need to be replaced.
