Over on birdsite, I have a bunch of accounts for various bots and parts of my company - one for the company itself; a couple of products have their own accounts; and a couple of toy bots. I'm trying to work out how to migrate them over to the fediverse, to continue my move to favour the open web. Feels like a chance to help set tone for how to do that. Are there any other examples/conventions? I'm thinking I should host a server on the company domain, to provide an easy segregation. Thoughts?
@amcewen as it's for a company perhaps cross-posting between Twitter and the fediverse might be a better solution. The way you're customers can continue to find and engage with your business. I salute supporting the open web, but do be sure to look after your company at the same time
@InevitableCashews hehe, good point, and don't worry, I'll still be posting elsewhere while there's a community there This is part me being the change I'd like to see, and part letting me experiment with new things (for example, I'm curious to see what an ActivityPub feed from the company blog looks like, and if that makes it easier for people to subscribe/follow than an RSS reader (usability-wise))
@amcewen Sounds like a good plan! Would definitely like to see more places being the change they want to see. Hope it goes well for you
