That's indeed the one.
@OutofPrintArchive and if course, here in the UK we got the better name of Lylat Wars. 
But that was on the box, everyone else just called it Starwing. 
I'm pretty sure this is just nostalgia on my part by now, but I really do like the name Lylat Wars.
Unlike, say, Probotector, which is objectively much better that Contra. 
Same with the protagonists of that series.
I much prefer the robots to the Arnie and Stallone knockoffs. 
@OutofPrintArchive Isn't Contra the game with the stolen Predator poster artwork? They just changed his head.
Let's just say they took "inspiration" from it.
