Back on the train to #oxford to attend an event on 'Black Women’s Health & Wellbeing: Black women campaigning and coproducing better health care' and to hear from amongst others my pal Jenny Douglas. Friends from Centre for Personalised Medicine and St Anne's College are still over on #birdsite, but I thought I might toot a few highlights from the day. Not quite sure if this fits the etiquette of this instance but think some of my #HealthResearch and #inequality followers might be interested.
Baroness Amos introducing the agenda for the day, noting the scandal of excess deaths of Black women and babies, and the backdrop of #racism and #discrimination in the UK. Opening up the idea of #PersonalisedMedicine to a discussion about care, ethics and equality. The promise of an action plan to be developed over the day.
Full agenda for today's 'Black women's health and wellbeing' day in photo below. Gonna listen intensely now...Jenny Douglas is on the stage.
