An emotional rollercoaster:

Out riding yesterday and on the way home my power meter started reading 0.

"That's odd," I thought, "I didn't change the battery very long ago."

I went to change the battery and lo, the battery cover had fallen off and disappeared, together with the battery.

This was a significant setback as the manufacturer went out of business and spares are hard to come by.

On the bright side I have just bought a 3D printer, so maybe if I can find a model on the interweb then ... Yes!

So I will be spending part of today printing a new battery cover door, as the final step in commissioning the printer. Cost about 5p. (Ignoring the printer cost )

Now the battery cover also has an O-ring seal behind it. The internet yielded the dimensions and I found some on the interweb for about £5 ... plus £5 p&p. Or I could spend £35 and get free postage.

The salt pattern on the legs is remarkably reminiscent of the designed pattern on the arms!

I went for a 100k🚴to compensate for not going on Thu/Fri mornings when it was ⛸️ risk.

The same gritter passed me 3x in 20 min. When I looked at the salt thrown up on my legs I was reminded of... oh yeah, my arms!

Also a reminder that if you're out on the roads at the moment to 🚿 your🚲 down when you return!

What kind of person starts to hope that their overseas work trip will be cancelled because it will interrupt their training rhythm, specifically, they will miss the planned date for their next ftp test?

This kind of person, apparently.

I suppose it's 20 minutes of discomfort, set against a whole week of transcontinental flights hotels and food.
