Does anybody have tips for hand tying quilts?
I'd love to know how you do it and your best tips!
I have a cotton top, a thin layer of batting and an already quilted nicky back. I plan on tying every 5 inches because I just need to tack all layers together instead of stabilizing pieces and batting.

Went for a 21 mile gravel ride on some varied terrain. Bag held up so far.

my personal vendetta against whichever one of you wrote the software for the Singer Futura XL 400 continues, but just know that you did not win this afternoon either. #singer #sewing #embroideryMachines
I’m currently hand stitching 3 different projects — and my stitching bowl is full of the threads I’m using.

I have recently started selling the clothes I make and send them to customers in the post. So far I have been putting the garments in a plastic bag but I would like to personalise the packaging. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this?
Printing custom wrapping paper seems crazy expensive. Ideally, I would like to find a sustainable solution. I would very much appreciate any ideas or experiences you've had wrapping garments. Thank you.
Hoy ha sido día de #Costura y he terminado #LaCamisa. Tiene problemas, porque es la primera camisa que hago. Pero estoy muy satisfecho del.resultado. Es una prenda que me puedo poner este verano. #Sewing #LaMaquinaDeCoser
I haven't told y'all about this bookmark project.
I'm hand sewing bookmarks with initials, inspired by the bookmark my niece gave me with an E on it. The bookmark makes me feel attached to the book. So these will be donated along with books in a project I feel is coming together.
I've done TONS of hand sewing, but you can tell I'm teaching myself as I go along. (Yes, A B C D F E )
Mostly finished. First time I tried to turn it right side out one of the seams came completely apart, there's others that might follow suit under load, we'll see.
The cardinal cracks me up. I feel an urge to fill it with sunflower seeds and bike to parks and feed birds!
I never really feel like a shortarse, except for when I have to reach top shelves in my kitchen (can't) or when I have to shorten a pants pattern by whole goddamn 10cm / 4in (sob).
Where are you, tall women with 32" inseam, and why am I not one of you?
I have finished the little Edwardian-ish chemise. Scrap linen left over from old night dress, whatever cotton and linen lace I had, a bit of satin ribbon.
Very cute, almost entirely useless!

Made bias tape for the first time (on the straight because will be using it on a single non-curving edge) and .. it was ok?
Less difficult than I imagined but also more boring?
Every time I use the iron for sewing I forget that 'pressing' is not 'ironing'.
Image: 2 strips of cream coloured bias tape with folded sides down, on a green cutting mat with centimeter number markings.
Metal Bias tape maker with number 18 is alongside strips.
Fixed some missing stitching on a dress, and made two skirts fit a bit better today with some #sewing fixes. Always satisfying to fix or make something better!
After a very disappointing session trying to attach a collar stand on a shirt I was ready to give up entirely. Instead, I worked on a different project and it helped - I don't want to set my fabric stash on fire anymore.
I've made these scoodies to order. It's not even winter anymore but people still want them.
An experiment with hand stitched applique... (very much a work in progress!)

"Just because," because bees are a just cause.
Next up in the #ElfkinCollection trunk show #sewing queue: leather! The sable suede is to become the coat in Abby’s look, and the blue stretch lamb is to be hubby’s shorts to go with the pleated front shirt in previous post.
