Artrocity Studio presents its latest hybrid critter, combining an Australian sugar glider (a marsupial similar to a flying squirrel) and a Guernsey cow to make...a cream-and-sugar glider.

I imagine someone on a deck, reading a book when a large shadow passes over them. As the person looks up, a 1,000 pound creature forcefully lands on the lawn and starts grazing...

Paper mache, wire, glass beads for the eyes; acrylic paint and fixer.

The final hippo rendering. 🙂

Sorry for the repost. I noticed that a tooth was situated almost exactly behind another tooth, causing an odd edge. Once I saw that, I could not unsee it, and needed to change it. 😅

His journey went from Unbound (SDF modeling) to ZBrush (some sculpted details) to Blender (Cycles rendering).

Then, a bit of post-processing in Affinity Photo and PhotoScape X (Pro).

I am so excited for this Mind Benders neon class I am gonna start teaching tomorrow. Running till Sunday, students of all levels will get to learn neon bending, inkscape pattern (neon template) design, and a few programming things to make the neon blink (using microcontrollers).

Also trilled for the Embracing Fallibility exhibition going along with it. Mostly about human "error"- and loving the errors. April 11th it opens, and its up through July 19th. Here are a few install shots. Every piece is interactive- by physically pressing buttons, or by joining a wifi network that the pieces emanate, or by visiting

from anywhere in the world. Okay, that last one is a little buggy- I programmed em all myself with some ai (mostly run locally) help. The LLMs are a a crutch, but I am learning more about #programming with them.

Soldering up three more weblink backpacks on the kitchen table at the airBNB. It was the perfect thing to do as the marinade cooled for my chicken that I just made- delicious. Three white rectangle PCBs with ESP 32 seeed Xiao boards on them. Orange weller soldering iron in the forground with brass sponge. Fancy orange cheddar cheese AC-DC rectifiers in the background along with a bunch of digikey bags on a sorta crappy but very functional AirbNb table.

Sculpting tiny ghost pipe flowers. Each petal needs to be handmade one at a time - so it's going to be a while before this light is done. I'm also working on more moss embroideries at the same time. The sculpting work fits in the time I have uninterrupted (kids), while the embroidery fits neatly into the interrupted time. Or at least, that's the idea. Generally, there is no uninterrupted time, and nothing fits in there anyway. But we'll see!
