It's not 3D-printed, but @amcewen finally got his bike fitted out with a My Bike's Got LED kit.
Anyone would think we've got an event to go to later in the week.
What's this? A new delivery of postcards for My Bike's Got LED?
There's something of a @DoESLiverpool takeover of the @oshwassociation Show and Tell this month - I'm going to be on talking about @MCQN_Ltd's My Bike's Got LED boards and @huffeec and @Snoof will be repping their company STEAM Engineers too!
Tune in at 5pm GMT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwPf12toLq4
Today at @MCQN_Ltd HQ we are mostly channeling Jay-Z for marketing copy.
A nice end to the working year.
Today some 22 ohm 0402 resistors turned up and I replaced the incorrect ones on the USB data lines on our My Bike's Got LED prototype boards.
With those two components replaced, the ESP32C3 could see the laptop's attempts to talk to it, and replied.
I can now flash code onto it over USB!
Back on our hand-decoding USB from oscilloscope traces schtick.
@huffeec pointed out that they're Start-of-Frame packets rather than NAKs. (People who build protocols sending packets least-significant-bit first are even worse than those who use little-endian!)
At least now I (think) we're getting somewhere. Looks like the ESP32C3 is ignoring the computer for some reason.
JLCPCB seem to be copying the budget airline approach with random extra fees and the like; but I guess they now also send you some x-rays of your boards once they've come out of production.
Here's one of our new prototype My Bike's Got LED boards, now en route to us
Bike PCB bonanza today! Just placed the order for:
* New prototype My Bike's Got LED boards
* More of the Microbit LED boards for kids workshops
* The audio-level-shifter board for @amcewen's bike soundsystem
Friday was the Season Finale #PelotonLiv #JoyRide, a festive parade. Once again we started as 2 rides: @murphyliverpool0 & I led one, Danny from Peloton the other, converging on Sefton Park.
There we met special guests Dogshow and a raft of young riders with their parents.
Led by the disco trike, and with bikes and riders festooned with LEDs we toured the park and surrounding streets.

We've been making a bunch of #MyBikesGotLED kits in time for the Halloween parade we're on tomorrow night (and for those who buy them to keep after). Matt was first to get his fitted last night #ibal234
Experimenting with adding a button to control my #MyBikesGotLED lights. Starting with some reuse: harvesting a button PCB from a waste board (well done past me for test points next to the button to solder to now!) and an old bike inner-tube for waterproofing #weeknotes #ibal234
Unsolicited user research for #MyBikesGotLED :
Lad playing footie in Everton: "Your bike's sick"
Other lad playing footie:"Your bike looks like your Nan's"
1st lad: "Shut up. Your bike's sick!"
Girl sat on a bench in Everton park: "Your bike is beautiful"
Just your average day of sifting through a selection of waterproof bags from Aliexpress and trying them with boards for size and mounting suitability #weeknotes #ibal234
#MyBikesGotLED, and Liverpool University's Engineering Department building also has LED #InTheSaddle #ibal234
With the nights drawing in, I've been wondering about brightening up our Friday-night cycling... What do you think? #weeknotes #ibal234
