Huge result and the UK really needs to follow suit.

There's a huge dependency in local Government on Microsoft, Google and Amazon products.

Even Stroud District Council's comms is via X and Facebook, which forces residents and councillors to consume an American news and a soft-porn agenda.

I just thought it was male councillors targeted by Facebook with soft-porn, but no, female councillors are subjected to it too! That was a bizarre unsolicited chat with two of my my female colleagues! Another male councillor colleague has mentioned that he can't browse social media in a public place because of it.

This has to change, there are great alternatives to reduce our dependency on these tax avoiding US companies owned by Andrew Tate wannabes which would be good for our local economy as well as our mental health.

Having been out in it (and probably get ill because of it), a lot of the snow was freshly frozen rain that turned into globules on contact, and was not nice when the wind came towards you. But when it picked up near the end, it was all snow flakes.

I think I'm right in that all of the snow in our winter season here has been outside the meteorological winter - first November, and now March.

Gloucester’s SkillZONE has received a £28,730 grant from Great Western #Railway (GWR) to support local youth and promote inclusivity. The funding comes from GWR’s Customer and #Community Improvement Fund, launched to assist communities with social needs. SkillZONE, an interactive life skills village run by #Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, helps young people, including those with social, mental health, and special educational needs, learn safer choices in various scenarios. The grant will enhance the rail scenario within SkillZONE by adding a new representation of #Gloucester station, interactive screens, and a mural, already benefiting 340 students from 12 schools. Plans include adding new train seats and educational resources, including video lessons and games, to further support young people’s preparation for adulthood. GWR’s funding aims to improve rail safety education and provide valuable life skills.

A very informative meeting yesterday (6th March 2025) about English Devolution and how it will impact Gloucestershire. Bear in mind the GCC executive wanted to cancel local elections and enter the first tranche of reorganisation.

The Chair of the Gloucestershire City Region Board, armed with the output of a £60,000 PricewaterhouseCoopers consultation, and the GCC Director of Economy and Environment hold Westminster's representative from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to account.
