At 10am today there was a Gloucester-wide power cut that lasted several minutes. At 2pm, I received an email from The National Grid entitled "Are you power cut prepared?"
Coincidence? I think not!

When things get tough, I head outside, usually into my own garden. Yesterday, it was Painswick Rococo Garden where I found escape from the stress of world news and life in general.
This is for anyone who wants a moment of natural calm.

I’ve been looking back on lockdown, when I first came down with Covid. It was a scary time. I dealt with some of that fear by working slowly on this linocut, inspired by amazing key workers.
Having been out in it (and probably get ill because of it), a lot of the snow was freshly frozen rain that turned into globules on contact, and was not nice when the wind came towards you. But when it picked up near the end, it was all snow flakes.
I think I'm right in that all of the snow in our winter season here has been outside the meteorological winter - first November, and now March.
Currently we've got some relatively moderate, late-season snow falling.
Gloucester’s SkillZONE has received a £28,730 grant from Great Western #Railway (GWR) to support local youth and promote inclusivity. The funding comes from GWR’s Customer and #Community Improvement Fund, launched to assist communities with social needs. SkillZONE, an interactive life skills village run by #Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, helps young people, including those with social, mental health, and special educational needs, learn safer choices in various scenarios. The grant will enhance the rail scenario within SkillZONE by adding a new representation of #Gloucester station, interactive screens, and a mural, already benefiting 340 students from 12 schools. Plans include adding new train seats and educational resources, including video lessons and games, to further support young people’s preparation for adulthood. GWR’s funding aims to improve rail safety education and provide valuable life skills.

This walk takes you from Chipping Campden in the #Cotswolds to the superb, 755ft (230m) vantage point of Dover’s Hill. It is part of a ridge above the town, with a clear view over the Vale of Evesham. Details at tinyurl.com/ed64sv9r

I shared a photo on our Pixey account of a parrot in #Birdland but felt like sharing another here from this trip we took in 2011. This is a #BlackThroatedLaughingThrush according to my phone, and I love the effect that's come from taking this shot through the wire cage.
