Last week I went to shoot a gig by the World Music Big Band at the excellent #vortexjazzclub in n London. I took lots of conventional shots of the players but also a few less conventional angles such as this.

For most of the shots I used my 35-100mm F2 #fourthirds lens at F2 on my EM1iii.

A great evening last night at The Halls Wolverhampton.
Th Irish group, The Saw Doctors in the middle of their first tour in years, absolutely fantastic nearly 2 1/2 hours of excellent non-stop music.
I'd really love the opportunity to photograph some gigs using some real cameras!

Very excited to be going to more frequent gigs and the occasional festival again after years of anxiety and avoiding them.

I'm getting a second hand compact camera to use at gigs because I really love gig photography and I miss it!

I still won't go up to London though (unless it's Spoon).

I'm also hopefully doing a hand printed tour poster for one of my favourite artists.

Very excited to be going to ArcTangent next year for the first time too.

On Sunday I got to see the Boston legend Edo G alongside DJ Yoda in the intimate setting of Manchester's "Hip-Hop Chip Shop" - great opportunity to experience a performance from two veterans at close quarters! Glad I took the camera out with me

5/5 To finish this week here's another gig with some friends of mine playing country in Limehouse. Challenging to snap as the lights were low and mostly behind the band. Topaz Photo AI was my friend here. Sony A7iii with the Tamron 28-70 f2.8.

Roc Marciano in Manchester last Sunday. While I'd happily have sat down to listen to him rhyme his dense bars in depth, the performance was more hype than I expected it to be - in a good way!

Good show last week, seeing Blu and Exile doing their thing at Band On The Wall in Manchester! Added bonus was hearing MED doing his verse from Dilla's "Jungle Love" Let's not even get into Exile rhyming and drumming on the MPC at the same time #HipHopPhilCollins
