braydenwise<p>The 3DMEs are nice because I can dial in how much (or little) ambient sound I hear, so I can get a little more of the top end of my arco playing in Band situations, while still getting good fundamental via the DI. Ryan Hyde 🇺🇦🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸<p>Just ordered some new P bass pickups for my Mustang bass. </p><p>The goal here is to pick up as many of the mid-high harmonics that are available on a short scale. I have a DiMarzio Ultra Jazz in the bridge position, which sounds great recorded. I've been writing songs on bass again like I did in my teens, after moving to mostly writing on regular guitar in my 20s and 30s. And I prefer writing on bass SO much more. I'm more able to concentrate on just notes and song arrangement and not just chord formations and strumming patterns and all the other stuff. Wild, that. Regular guitar is still super fun to play. But I still think in bass lines - they're always just in my head anyway - so why not 😂
