ARM is adding dedicated neural accelerators to its GPUs starting in 2026, bringing support for features like Neural Super Sampling, an AI upscaler that can reduce GPU workloads by rendering 540p content and upscaling to 1080p in as little as 4ms. newsroom.arm.com/news/arm-anno #Arm #GPU #Upscaling #NeuralAccelerator #graphics

I have finally upgraded my #DIY home routers from #RPi 1 to RPi 3. This is part of my long term plan to abandon 32-bit #ARM.

With RPi 1 I was using rt2x00 USB Wi-Fi adapters with an external antenna. I was concerned about the performance of the internal "no-antenna" design of RPi 3 but it turns out to be pretty good also in AP mode.

After a week w/testing both in city apartment and country home, it works even better (Teams calls, Chromecast, Android speedtest) than old setups.

This is a Sepia composition of my Raspberry Pi5 SBC.

Without even having used the GPIO yet, the machine has brought a lot of Joy to me, already.
I'm studying the deluge of projects boards / breakouts available for the GPIO, so that I can choose what I want to do first, after which I will go of course for those beautiful tube driven clocks. Of course I'm referring to the Nixie tubes.

Is there anyone here who has worked with these kind of vacuum tubes? Are there projects released for the Raspberry Pi where I can work with this kind of tubes?

I not only love the way they look but it would be nice to be able to make a device which looks like this has exactly the same tubes but is controlled in another manner then just the pure wonderful analog way

Thanks to the SBC distro I've been brought back the the light & powefull LXQt DE. It's a breeze and a whif of elegance in blistering speed to work on the Raspberry Pi5.
I will install LXQt on my X86 system also so that machine can Fly like an Eagle

Thank you for the excellent work programmers!

@kurt
That is quite a bummer. I wonder what the reason might have been for the programming team to revoke that possibility.

The current ways of preparing the Headless Install through customization, are of no value to you because your OS / computer cannot run the imager, which brings you in a chicken egg situation

Another plus point for the Raspberry Pi5
The machine works very gracefully with extremely slow USB sticks

Of course is the kernel specifically the kernel modules which do the Magical Work, but it's so beautiful to see how the buffers are dynamically changed to compensate for the extremely slow device
