When one has a GUI that's already doing clipped, overlapping, resizeable, Z-ordered, windows one is definitely in keeping a dog yet barking yourself territory, I agree.
Although there's perhaps an honourable mention for Twin just for really running with the idea, to the extent that it even draws detailed graphical #MultipleDocumentInterface like window frames inside its own main text window, beyond even using box and line drawing.
