If you're feeling some feelings about the UK Supreme Court ruling today, lend me your ears.

There might be some "buy things from trans indie creators" sentiment around the Fediverse inspired by the ruling. But if you have some spare cash and want to throw it at this issue, please throw it at a group that has political weight and takes political action instead of trying to give it to me.

Giving cash to trans people makes individual trans people happy, and that is really good. But in terms of bang for your buck, I want you to spend your £10 on getting me some rights, not getting me a pizza next weekend, you know?

Hello UK folks,

Trans people and allies outnumber transphobes by a long, long way. Please express your support for trans people to your MP.

writetothem.com makes it very easy. You just put your postcode in, and then it tells you who your MP is and gives you a form to send them an email.

Write from the heart, tell them you think trans people should be recognised socially and legally as the sex and gender that they are, not the one they were born as. It doesn't have to be long or eloquent. If you're cisgender, say so.

Make them count us all.

www.writetothem.comWriteToThemWriteToThem is a website which provides an easy way to contact MPs, councillors and other elected representatives.

The hubris of those who deny #trans identities is breathtaking.

Who are they to say that another human's lived experience or identity isn't real, just because it doesn't match their own?

And yet somehow they just _cannot_ shut up about it and listen to another person's statement of who they are.

TransActual statement on the Supreme Court ruling on the Equality Act:
Trans communities are devastated by today’s ruling. Instead of bringing clarity, the Supreme Court has made a ruling which appears to contain a number of contradictions. Irrespective of the small print, the intent seems clear: to exclude trans people wholesale from participating in UK society.

Today’s ruling by the UK
Supreme Court on what legally constitutes being a woman will be seen as highly regressive within 3 years.

There is a largely (but not entirely) an intergenerational disconnect going on here.

#Trans people are not going back in the closet however much certain political parties and groups might wish this.

The problems created by this ruling will play out ever louder every day…

While the planet burns and war rages, the media focus will sadly be back to public loos.
