Almost done with the Armigers. Treated myself to some basing today. #WH40K #MiniPainting #ModelMaking #Terminator2
Hadn't pained a model in about a year so this was fun. The oil wash I tried went pretty sideways on me, so she's not as spruce as I was hoping for, but definitely looks better than this crappy cellphone pic is leading onto.
Fun project to turn a couple fish tins into a boat. I think I'll probably have another go at it before too long. We're also gonna build some scenery for the game at some point soon too I think.
I have a tutorial on my ko-fi page for how I created a wooden hut model, almost entirely from plastic sprue.
This includes the carving, texturing and constructing the structure.
Also covered is the painting, which itself includes wood tones and rusty metal.
Lots of hints and tips, all with step-by-step photos, AND entirely free to view.
I also have some free device wallpapers of paint splatter if that's your thing.
I have gone miniature painting mad this week! Some of my work. I'm glad I found the headspace for this hobby again, it's really relaxing and it's getting me back into model making too.
Finished my bookshop model. Much as I didn't really want to glue the books in place, once I got the assembling the different elements I realised there was no way I could add them in loose afterwards. #books #modelmaking
Status of thuh current project. Here some pics of the de-molding and (wet)sanding of 8 out of 10 different molds/parts for thuh upcoming piece.
Soon more pics of building the main mold. What will it be? I can reveal it will be maritime themed.

A costume designer was so inspired by Henri Matisse’s "Pianist and Checker Players" that she turned it into a dollhouse—and the result is simply breathtaking.

The next stage is to put some glue on the beautiful little books that I have made... and stick them onto the bookshelves... I can't quite bring myself to do it yet... I enjoyed making the books so much that I made the spare as well... 21 in total... #BookNook #ModelMaking
I hope someone can help me. I am looking to sand acrylic/plexiglass. I’m looking for the gear to sand. It’s larger than what Dentist use and smaller than what you would use for regular woodworking. I need to be able to use grit between 1000 and 2000 and work in tight complex spaces. My guess is that it’s in the jewelry making range. Any jewelry makers out there that can lend me your wisdom?
Please boost.

#MetRoadtrip starts here! Got to the Folkestone hotel at 3:15am - will be having a nap on the #Eurotunnel crossing
Came into the building for some food, and they have these cool original models of the tunnel concept and also another one showing the tunnel boring machine. Love stuff like this.

Spending the very wet Sunday planning the next diorama. This one is a touch more ambitious than the last one!!
My latest creation. Pretty happy with it. Hoping it's at least recognisable what I was going for #diorama #modelmaking
This afternoon was also for a testing how to make foam and wood look like riveted metal plates. It's a work in progress. #diorama #modelmaking
And tonight the first walls of the book nook went up!
