Last week at KubeCon, brunching with friends and hanging out in cafés during downtime, had reminded me that getting out of the house is good occasionally.

Anyone know if there’s good coworking spaces in #Horsham, #WestSussex? Or if I should just go to a café with my laptop for a morning a week or something?

The weather’s getting nicer, the walk to town will do me good, and I like the background noise ambiance.

Govia #Thameslink #Railway (GTR) has launched a podcast series showcasing scenic Sussex destinations. To celebrate the seven-episode series released on 20 March, over 30 guests attended a screening of ‘the Arun Valley Line: Beyond the Rails’ at The Capitol Horsham, featuring interviews with GTR staff and volunteers.

Tracy Jarvis, GTR's Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, highlighted the sustainability of train travel and encouraged exploration of hidden gems this spring. The initiative, commissioned by the Southeast Communities Rail Partnership (SCRP) and funded by #Horsham District Council and the #UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, aims to promote local attractions accessible by train.

Rowena Tyler from SCRP noted the podcasts highlight the beauty of the Arun Valley Line, with plans to expand the project. Horsham District Council supports the series, aligning it with their goals of promoting sustainable travel and local tourism.

Happy 20th birthday to #parkrun. I got bullied at school into hating exercise and public performance. When my friend Simon encouraged me to go to parkrun back in 2019, I thought I’d do it once to shut him up and then stop. I’ve now done 112 runs, met amazing new friends I never would have met otherwise, got much fitter, and last year I joined the core team at #Horsham as a run director and (soon!) volunteer coordinator. It’s changed my life and all for the better.
