Gloucester’s SkillZONE has received a £28,730 grant from Great Western #Railway (GWR) to support local youth and promote inclusivity. The funding comes from GWR’s Customer and #Community Improvement Fund, launched to assist communities with social needs. SkillZONE, an interactive life skills village run by #Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, helps young people, including those with social, mental health, and special educational needs, learn safer choices in various scenarios. The grant will enhance the rail scenario within SkillZONE by adding a new representation of #Gloucester station, interactive screens, and a mural, already benefiting 340 students from 12 schools. Plans include adding new train seats and educational resources, including video lessons and games, to further support young people’s preparation for adulthood. GWR’s funding aims to improve rail safety education and provide valuable life skills.

The #Gloucester station subway reopened on 28 February following major upgrades, marking the completion of a multi-million-pound improvement project. Enhancements include step-free access, modern lighting, CCTV, and better visibility. The station now offers improved facilities for pedestrians, #cyclists, and #buses, including resurfaced car parks, better drainage, and dedicated spaces for disabled parking and taxis. The project also involved track bed maintenance and the relocation of a National Grid cable. Local leaders, including MP Alex McIntyre, celebrated the reopening, highlighting the subway's role in connecting #Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with the city centre. This project is part of a broader regeneration plan for Gloucester, enhancing accessibility, safety, and the overall station environment. The improvements were funded by GFirst LEP, GWR, Network Rail, Gloucester City Council, Gloucestershire County Council, and the Department for #Transport.

@GMIK69
I made several visits to #GloucesterRoyal Hospital in December starting with A&E.

I'm #Covid and #Flu vaccinated but wore a mask (as usual when I go where people are), but only saw two staff wearing a mask the whole time. Why #NHS?

Same last November when I had an operation. The only masked staff were *in* the operating theatre!

The #healthcare was excellent throughout, but infection management is literally a #PublicHealth disaster.

A very silly decision by #Gloucester #Rugby here.

The guy has seemingly worn the flag since 2021, and only because someone on Twitter suddenly discovered their existence a week ago, they've decided to now remove it - alone.

Russia does still exist, and there would be other states as bad.
