My poor lime tree! The wind has been so strong here that it split the lime's trunk. I've moved it back inside (which it hates) and splinted the trunk. Hopefully it'll recover but it won't be able to go back out for at least a year. 😮‍💨

The stem forming all those roots is a bit of sedum cutting broken off by Saga, the GSD. The thinner stem is a wind damaged veronica that I stuck in for the flower. It's not the first time I've rescued wind damaged veronica, but it is the first time I've had one start to form roots. I wonder if some hormone or other from the sedum has encouraged it along? I'll leave the 2 together for now, just in case. I wouldn't mind having another veronica!

Was reminded of the time I had sunflowers suddenly arise on the edges of my garden.

We have chickens and the seed mixture we like to give them contains sunflower seeds. Given where they grew, my conclusion was that the chickens ate them and the seeds came out, uh, let’s say fertilized.

There’s a metaphor in there somewhere.
