One of the first examples of DLC for the Game Boy can now be emulated.

Pocket Family GB used the GB KISS LINK to download a Family Photo Event from Hudson's website. It allows players to save photos of their current family with the GB Printer.

DLC files were recovered from Hudson's old website via Archive.org. GBE+ can send them to the game and aside from the time/date, it works fine.

Seems Hudson set the wrong exposure for the printer, so the photo comes out way too light!

Back from Ireland. There was an arcade near my hotel that had a Dance Dance Revolution machine. I haven't seen one of those in 20 years. And I still got the moves.

(Though not for an extended period. Old man is old.)

Sadly my quest for video games not released in North America was a bit of a bust. I did find The Jungle Book for Master System, but that was about it. Though I also picked up Mercenary Force for Game Boy because I wanted it and the price was acceptable.

Any #GameBoy devs here? I'm trying to get started with GBDK-2020. It builds and runs, but I can't make lcc produce a .cdb file for debugging with the VSCode Emulicious debugger plugin. There's a .adb file though. #RetroDev

Having recently enjoyed "Mole Mania" and "For the Frog the Bell Tolls" on the original #Gameboy, I find myself constantly impressed by how well games on that old console hold up!

And this week I've become engrossed by "Cave Noire", another game I'd never heard of before.

It's a Japan-only (played via a translation patch) Rogue-like game from 1991. You enter a randomly generated dungeon on a set quest (find X gold, rescue X fairies).

It's turn based and slow, but incredibly fun.
