Skullvalanche<p>While out dancing last night, the DJ played Sade's classic Smooth Operator. </p><p>And now I cannot get it out of my head that it has some really weird geography descriptors.</p><p>"Coast to coast, L.A. to Chicago, Western Maine" ??</p><p>What coast is Chicago!? the coast of Lake Michigan?</p><p>what the hell is happening in Eastern Maine that the smooth operator is only operating in Western Maine? A quick look at the map shows that there are basically no cities at all in Western Maine- so that's a strange place to be.</p><p>A quick look at a lyric site seems to think that the line is western male and not western Maine. I guess that makes slightly more sense, especially since he considers Chicago a coast and he only goes back-and-forth between LA and there.</p><p>but then she starts mentioning Key Largo, which is distinctly further east than Chicago. </p><p>this song is breaking my brain, and I am still not convinced that that line is western male. 🤣</p><p><a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/MusicMusings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MusicMusings</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/showerThoughts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>showerThoughts</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/80s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>80s</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/80sMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>80sMusic</span></a> <a href="https://gladtech.social/tags/lyrics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lyrics</span></a></p>
