Annoying coach handrails. I’ve got to make dozens, reliably. At first, I thought some form of jig would be useful. In the end, I found simply forming the wire with fine pliers simplest. There is a wastage rate, but it will come down twitch more practice - I hope.

My regular scruffy green cutting mat plays host to a small, sad pile of failed handrails. They are bent up from fine brass wire, but have failed because they either bent the wrong direction, or were not the right size. The business end of a pair of thin-nosed pliers can also be seen.
On my scruffy green cutting mat, in splendid isolation, is one fine brass wire handrail. This is bent the right shape, but slightly too long. I’m using it as a template to remind me which way the wire has to bend, because I’m stupid and forget each time I do it!
Once more, on the scruffy green cutting mat, this time with one of the brass photo etched coach bodies the handrails are for. Four mostly successful handrails are temporarily fitted in the holes in the body. There is a steel rule marked in centimetres for scale.
