Who do you recommend these days for low cost, reliable Linux VM hosting? Preferably UK or EU.

@kevinrutherford I’m using loveservers.com to run a couple of cheap VPSs, one I think grandfathered into a £15 per year plan

@kevinrutherford yup. It’s pretty bare bones. The support has been excellent too given I’m an idiot who screws stuff up and I’m not giving them very much money at all.

@kevinrutherford I have some weird sense of seeing that somewhere else recently. I wonder if there is an issue with stripe (or whatever the payment provider is).
@kevinrutherford unless there’s some reason your card won’t allow USD ? I dunno. Worth giving dropping them a mail unless you’re overly put off and moving on.
@acf It's Stripe. I have plenty of other USD payments going out on this card.
Complete fail. I've messaged their support, but it's pretty basic.

@kevinrutherford that’s the only stripe error code regarding currency so for whatever reason stripe *thinks* you can’t be charged in a currency. :-/
@acf I tried two different cards, borth of which I know work with USD.
Oh well, that's their loss I'm afraid...
