incoming - feel free to mute the hashtag if you'd rather not have both Mothra and Godzilla rampaging over your timeline for the next hour or two...

(But where would the fun be in avoiding that???)

The unstoppable might of a storm-wracked ocean, left to right - then briefly opposed by a sunlit scene of large pumps jetting water back again, right to left. Human hubris!

Professor Miura on the scene - has anyone checked his actual area of academic expertise?

Tiny fairy twins very politely asking the arch capitalists for the return of their giant egg. Of course.

Foreshadowing a particularly apocalyptic version of the Very Hungry Caterpillar here...

The capitalists now want to buy the fairies? This is not going to go down well.

Ruined, open landscape that's quite possibly a miniature? Being tested for radioactivity? *Something* is undoubtedly going to happen there...

(Photojournalist lady has swapped her big clumsy Speed Graphic for a rather nice SLR with telephoto lens - all the better to capture ... GODZILLA!)

I remember trying to get somewhere on the London Underground - there was a robotic announcement that trains on a particular line were cancelled, complete with pre-recorded explanation - 'unexploded world war two bomb'.

I presume Tokyo has something similar for Godzilla attacks.

Infant Island - surprisingly desolate, radioactive, bone-strewn - and full of half-naked blokes painted red.

... and now I really want a cup of tea.

After the brief interlude on Infant Island with singing telepathic fairies and an elderly Mothra being coaxed back into doing One Last Job - we return to Godzilla versus the Japanese military.

Now the capitalists are fighting! While Godzilla approaches!

(I'm on Godzilla's side, obviously.)

Mothra flaps violently at Godzilla, eventually grabs his tail, drags him away from the precious (and giant) egg! All utterly ridiculous and honestly quite exciting.

Walking around in a rubber suit while everything's catching fire seems ... safe?

Really starting to wonder how that giant egg managed to exit the somewhat less-giant Mothra. Ouch.

Those melting cables looked like actual wires with excessive current sent through them - albeit miniature. Nice effect - ditto the melting tanks!

THE EGG IS PULSATING. I REPEAT, THE EGG IS PULSATING.

A temporary fuck-off into the sea?

Godzilla being thoroughly outwitted by a pair of newborn caterpillars here.

@coprolite9000 I think the fairies said the egg reached full size while in the ocean. So maybe it was a whole lot smaller before.

@coprolite9000 yeah, the fire was a little off, but really nice effects here #monsterdon
